MegaGear Sad girls in Snowglobe

Snowglobe!

Fred:

I got these from RPL Supplies. There are actually a bunch of places online that carry them, though from the markings on the case box I believe the actual manufacturer is Neil Enterprises. They cost me $60 overall for a dozen from RPL, so $5 per at the moment. Not sure how you want to price these. $20? $18 online and $15 at cons? $12 online an $10 at cons? Maybe at Ohayocon we can start them at $15 and see what happens, and reduce it to $10 on Sunday if we need to.

The nominal measurments for the photo inserts are 2" by 2 7/8" (width to height ratio of 16 to 23). It's actually the same size internally as the ones I made for the two of us years ago using this one. However, because the outer globe is spherical instead of cylindrical, there's actually quite a bit of distortion at the bottom. The bottom 1/8 inch is essentially never visible. When looking at the image straight-on, the bottom 1/2 inch is cut off. This gives us good leeway for the images we have that wouldn't otherwise be quite as tall as we need.

Depending on how much work you want to make for yourself, I don't know if you want to cut out the inserts yourself or leave that to the people who buy these.

Here's the stuff I have that I think are good as inserts. You said you might want to color some of them, that's cool if you do. If you can dig out the original files for some of these we can make some good tweaks.

1) Saeko Standing

Old Fredart dev image for Warmth. Due to however you did the scan it's kind of yellowish and goes darker in the upper left corner. Could probably clean that at least the corner with some photoshop adjusting. The "Warmth" title is fine or we could remove it.

2) Saeko Sitting

Another old Fredart dev image for Warmth. Same issue with the scan, though the darker in the corner goes all the way down the side this time. Again, could probably clean that at least the side with some photoshop adjusting.

3) Piro's Kotone Sketch

Pulled from comic [374] and tweaked to remove Kimiko's thumbs.

4) Kotone and Burn in the Ruined Forest

DPD comic [491]. Initially I just cropped the comic header off but it would be good to have a version without the comic footer. The Sight, Lockart, and Cubesoft logos aren't hurting anything, could remove them or leave them in. However, the text down the right side becomes a little too small to read depending on the print resolution, so I think it should be enlarged if not removed.

5) Kimiko Poster

Yep, it's the poster. Originally I actually used a textless version you had up somewhere, I think mostly because it's the only image I could find of it that was big enough, but the version with the text is fine too.

6) Kimiko Blanket

The original art for the blanket from Fredart.

7) Kimiko Late Book Card

From way back when the printing of the first book ran too late for Christmas. I had to crop it to remove the text but the original with the text not there would have better dimensions for this.

8) ch33rb07

From the temporary DPD comic [796] that got taken down again when you replaced it with a story page. I cropped out the other text but I like the "ph33r t3h ch33r". Maybe the url doesn't need to be there though.

9) Piro and Kimiko and SnowLargo

From the DPD comic [948]. As usual, I cropped out the comic header and footer text. Actually I'm not sure the rest of the text that's there adds anything either, might be best just to remove it.

10) Team Schoolgirl in Winter

I don't even remember now where this is from. A design that was used for a short time at the Cafepress store maybe?

11) Penguin Piroko

Just for the pure goofiness of it. Fredart drawing from a while back. I only cropped it a tiny bit before, but maybe could go without the Linux gag for this. The "50% cute. 50% deadly force. 100% ice cold. ph34r t3h penguin" line is a lot of fun however. (Though as it is now it's barely large enough to read and gets cut off by the bottom of the snow globe anyway. I guess it's fun to see it before you put it in?)

12) Miho

Last panel of comic [1115]. I think this is the best Miho image from that sequence to use here. Needs the sides cropped off obviously.

12b) Miho from Behind

Third panel of comic [1122]. I figure, what the hell. It exists, it's the right dimensions, may as well throw it in. Will probably look cool back to back with the 1115 panel. Needs the header text removed and isolated from the neighboring frames.

13) Kotone from that omake whatever thing you're currently working on

This was too good not to use. Maybe there are some other good ones in this sequence too? Need a clean version without the text box and cropped to fit.
